The challenge for Spacemaker here was to renovate this 1930s mansion, while retaining its original features and character. This was a complex project on many levels. But Spacemaker rose to the occasion with an inviting design and custom-made solutions that met the family's unique needs. The clients' vision was for bold, daring design that not only reflected their personalities and creativity, but also acknowledged the home's rich history.
This tiny 19th century weatherboard cottage, one of 20 identical ones on the street, was given a dramatic makeover from the ground up for a more versatile and liveable space. Only the front two rooms remained, with Spacemaker completely demolishing the rest of the structure to create a two-storey bright, modern home that ticks all the boxes for our clients.
Executing a new build is exciting. This project involved constructing a three-level, five-bedroom home complete with swimming pool. Ultimately, Spacemaker was able to create a timeless, elegant family home with a light-hearted feel in line with the clients' needs. Quality and attention to detail were essential from the very beginning with this project.
Reinvention was the name of the game in this project. Not withstanding the tight block, Spacemaker was able to increase floor area (by more than 70%) and deliver a minimalist, open-plan design with generous room dimensions and lofty ceilings. The client's brief was to transform this somewhat tired and uninviting two-bedroom, one bathroom cottage to a modern, light filled dream home with 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms and a concealed laundry.

Tim, Paul, Mitch, Zac and Ben were not only easy to work with but we’re also knowledgeable and professional.
As project managers by trade, we both know how hard it can be to coordinate all the moving parts to ensure delivery. Add COVID to the mix and Paul had his work cut out for him. To his credit, he handled all the challenges like a champ and kept us informed throughout the build.
Mitch, Zac and Ben delivered exceptional craftsmanship with service beyond expectations.
