We have a collaborative approach with our clients, incorporating ideas, loves & requirements into an overall design framework, adapting & refining from the initial sketches & massing models to testing out finishes & colours in interior views.
It's better for the environment & old houses have charm that we can compliment with new spaces. Our own renovations in Launceston have started, converting our sheds into a wheelchair & vision impaired accessible airBnB. A copper & brick addition we designed in Invermay has planning & building permits, waiting for the builder to start.
We've also designed stand alone commercial buildings & shop fitouts for hairdressers & hospitality tenancies for owner operators. Some of alsoCAN architects' residential work includes a commercial component; from home offices to mixed use developments with cafs under apartment buildings. Jane did an excellent job from the beginning to the end of our renovation (half house rebuild as well as renovating the front parts of the house). She designed the renovation and she was very patient with us when we asked her to modify some of the initial drawings. Throughout the renovation despite it being done during COVID 19 lock downs, she was with still with us via email and videos so that we were reassured that everything was going to plan. If there were problems, she did not hesitate to help us. We highly recommend her if anyone needs a renovation.

AlsoCAN architects designed and managed renovations to our 1910 house in the inner west of Melbourne. They provided us with a variety of options to reconfigure the house and make it more usable for our needs. Jane acted as our project manager and was responsive and creative, offering us plenty of options. We appreciated how she and Dave saw our renovations through Council approval and liaised with the builder. Their attention to quality control is excellent and we knew we could rely on their knowledge and expertise.
