With a total of 13 years of experience in the industry Solarguard Awnings & Sheds has the qualifications of a metal fabricator and carpenter.
The word "verandah" comes from India via the Middle East and literally means "a place that leads outdoors." A verandah is a long, narrow structure that is usually added to the front or a backyard from the attached house. Verandahs have been a popular choice for Australians and embedded deep in the Aussie way of living.
The word "patio" is a Spanish word that originally referred to a roofless inner courtyard. Whilst it is very similar to a verandah, a patio is often referred to the back part of the house where as a verandah is often referred to the front. A patio is often an area adjoining a house in the backyard that is roofed and sometimes has walls, depending on its use.
The term awning is a rather loose term these days for almost anything considered an outdoor covered area that is attached to a home either in the front yard or backyard. The fact is though the traditional term for an awning is that of a shaded structure covering windows or doors attached to a home to reduce glare, rain and the elements of the earth.
A pergola traditionally is made from wooden beams and rafters but these days can also be made from COLORBOND Steel in a more modern approach. Traditionally a pergola was an ornamental outdoor structure that is free standing and not attached to a home, generally, you would find a pergola in the backyard around the garden.

Mark impressed me back in 2018 on the first job he quoted for us. He turned up and was on time!!!! I know this just does not happen with tradies today. He was very pleasant, helpful and responded to phone calls and emails.
Mark assisted us with ideas for the pergola he put up for us which spanned across 2 duplexes. He was punctual and when he said things would happen they did. His quote was competitive and his workmanship was very good, his offsider Dave was very pleasant and did a good job. Very tidy and cleaned up after themselves.
Now in June 2020 we contacted Mark to do another job for us

Smooth process from beginning to end - from quote through to installation. David (who did our installation) was just excellent - great guy, but also professional, meticulous with great attention to detail - we just love the finished product (custom designed single car port with a tricky installation) . I would have no hesitation recommending Mark and David to anyone interested in an awning, shed, carport, pergola etc.

We had solarguard make our 2 car carport, the whole process was really easy from Mark coming out to quote and give some design input through to David's amazing job of installation. Their prices are very competitive, but with the quality of service and pride they take in their work it works out to be exceptional value.
Needless to say we are very happy with the work and won't hesitate in having then do more work out to recommend them to others. Keep up the good work!

This company is very professional and their workmanship is excellent. They built a back pergola for us and a few years ago did a front carport. Our son has also used them and our neighbour. Very easy process and great advice on how to build pergola. Dave came when he said he would and always kept us up-to-date on what was happening. Mark removed and replaced our pergola over the deck in our back yard. I was very impressed with the work done by Mark and his team. They were very professional and friendly and knew their job well. The weather conditions were not entirely conducive to working on the roof but Mark and David completed the job entirely to our satisfaction. I have no hesitation in recommending Mark for any awning or pergola work that you may want done.
