Do not allow silicone based products to come into contact with timber floor before completion of sanding and coating as this will cause rejection of the coating. All furniture in areas to be sanded and coated must be removed by client and any breakable objects on shelves or walls, such as paintings, photos, or clocks etc.
A coating that will provide many years of beauty providing it is properly maintined (Refer to care and maintenance). Black Japanning or stain around perimeter of some older floors may produce a finished floor with a two tone effect. Some lighting, particularly downlights will produce a visible, fine, circular, scratched effect on the finished floor.
Selecting the timber floor coating that is right for you will often rely on a number of factors including expected foot traffic, maintenance, aesthetic considerations or health and saftey issues. There are literally hundreds of products that can be used to coat internal timber flooring. Basically they are classified in three broad categories: Solvent based, Water based and Oil based coatings.

We could not recommend Andrew highly enough. We had our floors, which had been covered up since 1954, sanded and refinished and we are so happy with how they turned out. Andrew always turned up when he said he would, was reliable and friendly, and also helped us out by putting us onto a carpenter to fix some termite damaged boards. Andrew was also able to bring our job forward a week, which was fantastic. All in all, a reliable tradesman who does a terrific job.
