The vast majority of residential solar power systems in Australia are grid-connected systems without a solar battery.
Solar Choice has been publishing the Solar Price Index for residential solar & commercial-scale solar since 2012 and 2014, respectively. We regularly compile pricing & product and warranty information from our pre-vetted network of over 200 installers to produce the Residential Solar PV Price Index and Commercial Solar Price Index.
In May of 2014, we added our Commercial Solar PV Price Index for larger system sizes, and late last year we launched our Home Battery Storage Price Index. The table below displays average, indicative battery installation prices from a range of installers around Australia, most of whom are active in the Solar Choice network.
Over the last 13 years Solar Choice has performed due diligence on 1000s of solar companies and developed a pre-vetted network of Australia's leading commercial solar installers. The data we use comes from our installer network database, which consists of about 100 CEC-Accredited commercial solar installation companies around the country. Solar Choice manages tenders for a wide range of commercial solar projects around Australia. The figures in the tables below are based on data from our extensive network of solar installers, many of which specialise solely in commercial-scale solar projects.

Way back when the Gov was offering 60c FIT, just as this promotion was coming to a close, I decided to install a 3.2kW solar rooftop system. It WAS pricey back then. I picked a company with good reviews....Solar Choice, as the confidence in after sales was paramount in a what was then, a fledgling industry. There was a mad rush to install before the end of the generous Gov incentive scheme. I waited over 6 months to have my job completed and certified. Decided on Venergy. From start to finish I felt comfortable with the Quoting and procedure and installation of our Solar installation. Have recommended Venergy to friends and neighbours. We chose a 8.2kw Fronius Inverter and 25 x 325W Sunpower Panels. Got our first Bill and we are $956.00 in Credit. Happy Customer!

Solar Choice provides a one stop shop where you can safely compare solar quotes and quality of possible contractors. I spent 12 months almost full time upon my retirement researching solar, attending seminars. Industry trade shows, getting educated and developing a business model for evaluating the business case for solar ROI which is Amazingly similar to yours but no where near as graphically spectacular.

Great, informative and unbiased service. Good recommendations of potential installers - I ended up using one of those companies.
I also like the fact they actively look for feedback on the product/installation process to update their database and improve they services further.

Solar Choice offered the opportunity to research inverters & panels and to understand what was important when making a comparison from the different quotes I received. I was also able to see the recommended installers for the Perth metro area. Solar Choice gave me the confidence to actually install a 6.6kw system on my property.
