A Grade Sanding & Polishing is a family owned business operated by Jeff Milner in Brisbane, Australia. Because we have a young family we're very concerned about the health of the environment, and the people in it. After learning about the damage solvent based polyurethanes can cause we resolved to preferably supply and use non toxic waterborne polyurethanes, hard wax oils & organ oils.

Our aim is to supply our customers with top quality workmanship in the healthiest possible way. The products we use are extremely durable and are the result of 20 years of research by the Swedish company BonaKemi, world leaders in waterborne polyurethanes. The are three main finishes that we use they are Water based Polyurethanes, Hard Wax Oils & Organ Oils.

All of these products come in a variety of sheen finishes. We guarantee not only the quaility of our workmanship but also the durability and quality of the finishes we use.
Services
All the water based polyurethanes we use are non-toxic, biodegradable, coatings are UV stabilised which means they are non-yellowing. Basically this comes in a single bottle pour it into a coating bucket and apply it to the floor, you get one prime coat and 2 final coats. Is a Two Component product we mix the Part B to the Part A and you get 30% more Durability than the 1Pack.
Influenced by the emerging trend in restaurant to preserve historical character whilst modernising the overall atmosphere, the lab is a fascinating combination of old and new. When the Treasury Casino contacted A Grade Sanding, they wanted a floor finishing to retain the natural look of the antique redwood floor, while enduring the traffic of the hundreds of customers dining at the bar everyday.
When the finishing coat has been applied to your floors it is usually dry to touch within 1 to 3 hours, although the floor finish is still "curing" at this stage. As a rule, wait 8 hours after the application of the topcoat before walking into the room with bare feet. Wait 5-7 Days before moving heavy furniture.
Can my floor be Sanded and Polished? Yes! Basically any timber floor can be sanded and polished. There are a wide variety of timbers used as flooring in Australia. Some need to be worked differently than others so it is important to seek professional advice before proceeding. Can I stay in the house during the work process?
All our Floor Sanding & polishing is priced by the square metre.
