Mr Attic was founded by Steinar Berg almost 30 years ago. Over the decades Mr Attic has established a solid reputation for consistently delivering high quality attic conversions, additions and alterations, above and beyond what is commonly expected in the building industry. Since 2014, Mr Attic has been owned and run by former employee Sam Paasila, under the construction company Pazila Pty. Ltd.
An attic conversion is the process of transforming an empty and unused attic space into effective storage or a functional room. The definition of functional room is typically living room, bedroom (with or without an ensuite), office or study. Attic conversions are a popular form of home improvement because of their numerous benefits.
A bedroom falls under the "habitable attic room" category and will therefore require council approval. Staircases leading into the room need to comply with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and it is compulsory to install windows for ventilation and adequate natural light. The existing structure of the ceiling and roof are not adequate to carry the load of a new room and its live loads.
For attics that don't meet the criteria for a liveable room, taking it a step further is always an option. Although constructing a whole new level is a more costly approach to adding more living space, sometimes it the only option. An extra bathroom then becomes a more feasible option. Many properties around Sydney already have minimal outdoor space or backyards, so building up rather than out means preserving outdoor living areas.

Mr. Attic did an amazing job! A solid, seamless experience all around. Josh (owner) and his team were responsive, polite, punctual, clean and did exactly what they said they would at the price they quoted.
Gabriel (sales rep) took the time to look over my whole attic, inspect and measure the attic for his estimate. He spent significant time explaining my options and pros/cons of blown vs. batted insulation. Gabriel made sure we would get the best set up for my home.
The crew was great to work with and accommodated my periodic inspection of their work. I did my due diligence before selecting Mr

Josh come to inspect our attic and crawl space.
He was polite, on time and thorough.
He was honest in his evaluation of my attic and crawl space saying the insulation was in a good condition and no tretment is needed.
I'm so happy there are still old honest companys like that.

Just moved in to a new house in the bay area a few months ago and for the day one we heard creepy sounds from the ceiling.
Long story short we had Mr Attic inspect out attic. After they rodent proof and add additional insulation we never heard any more noises.
Good service and fair pricing highly recommended if you have a rodent problem.
