In a serendipitous way, Gerard found his perfect job at just 15 years of age as an apprentice upholsterer. With his eye for design, love of colour and form and using his hands Gerard began what is now his love affair with beautiful custom furniture. The love of furniture design was in the blood, as Gerry is a third generation furniture maker and has passed this on to one of his sons as well.

My wife and I are the owners of two somewhat unremarkable Danish Style armchairs that have been passed down through three generations of the family. The chairs might not be anything special but the story of them and their symbolism to this family, is.
Jerry and Cynthia really seemed to respect that and put the same time, workmanship and effort into our quaint little chairs reimagining as they would their statement piece sofas. We couldn’t be happier or recommend Sorrento Furniture highly enough.

My wife and I asked Gerry to re-upholster and restore a 1970's Moran modular suite. It had been recovered in an ugly floral print, and had been jumped up and down on by young girls for about 15 years! It came back to us looking incredible (in a great gold velvet). The workmanship is first class. It looks better than new. Cannot recommend Gerry and Sorrento Furniture highly enough. Genius!
