Services
Through a competitive tender process our clients, Rozelle Bay Pty Ltd won the right to develop 26,000sqm of waterfront land in Rozelle Bay facing Sydney Harbour at one of the primary gateways to the central business district. The tender was won against much larger organisations and at the core of our success was MFA's thorough research into the Government's needs and desires for the site and subsequent responsive design.
Through a competitive tender process our clients, Rozelle Bay Pty Ltd won the right to develop 26,000sqm of waterfront. This development proposal provided solutions for various complex objectives set out by the in the approvals process. Working with the Queensland Government and major stakeholders we submitted the design for Bowen Harbour's International Marina, a hub.
Designing a house on arguably one of the best sites in one of the best suburbs in Sydney comes with its challenges. The pinnacle of our "Pittwater Houses", the Hatton residence involved tough negotiations with neighbours and the council, high expectations from the client and a site that seemingly everybody had an opinion about.
Inspired by the boatsheds of Pittwater, this medium density development was lauded in the Sydney Morning Herald, Vogue Living and the television series 'Our House' upon its completion. This dual occupancy home has stood the test of time and is as sophisticated, sympathetic to the landscape and beloved by the two families that call each dwelling home, fifteen years later.
The urban minimalism of this house demonstrates the designer's ability to adapt the form to suit the site and the client. The house strongly contrasts in form and fabric to previous homes designed by MFA. This is no accident. A deliberate and well articulated practice of client focused architecture has ensured that our designs are reflections of our clients' needs and preferences.
