We pilot drill and hand nail all decking boards with hot-dip galvanised steel nails (we do not use nail guns). All fixings (bolts, nails, screws etc) are either stainless steel or hot-dip galvanised steel which will not rust.

Always engage a registered builder or tradesperson. All licensees who perform insurable work over $3,300 must pay BSA's Home Warranty Insurance premium. If a licensee provides you with their BSA license number, you can check them out on BSA's website as well as lots of other useful information about engaging contractors.

I used QLD Deck Co to build a new deck on the front, back and side of my house a few years back and the its been the best addition we have done to our home. We managed to turn an ugly area in a family friendly entertaining area for ourselves and visitors. In all we built about 100sqm of decking and still looks fresh and new today.
