Services
Spectrum was established by Barry Ryder in 1973. After 42 years of decorating people's homes with curtains and blinds, Barry retired, with long time employee, Sophie Unland, has now taken over as the new owner. In 2015, Spectrum closed the doors of the longest running shop in Castella St, Lilydale, and we now operate as a mobile showroom.
Curtains or Drapes are a beautiful way to dress your window. Whether you like a more traditional style of Pinch pleats, or a more modern style of Eyelets or S-Fold headings, curtains can be made out of sheer fabrics, or more solid fabrics paired with a blockout lining. We have fantastic sewers that we work with to create tiebacks, or an assortment of scatter cushions, which are a great way to co-ordinate with your window furnishings.

Roller blinds are a modern and simple window treatment, with their slimline appearance and being very cost effective. There are a wide range of fabrics and colours to choose from, including screen fabrics, light filtering fabrics and blockout fabrics, with the option to use dual blinds at windows to create privacy both day and night.
Panel Blinds are a stylish modern alternative to standard window treatments. They feature wide panels that glide easily into place with use of a flick stick. They are an ideal choice for sliding doors, opening away from door opening, and for wide windows, as the panels can stack off the window to maximise views.

I had a great experience with Sophie, Jackie and Olly. 18 months ago they did a brilliant job in installing new curtains and blinds for our upstairs extension. Their service was consistently professional and reliable. More recently they fixed a broken blind cord (from blinds that had been installed by a different company 3 years ago), and when that… broke again after a couple of months (through no fault of theirs), they came out and replaced the entire cord with no cost whatsoever to us. I was truly amazed by this - they showed exceptional customer service and after care. I will recommend

I highly recommend Spectrum Curtains. The service from start to finish was exceptional. Sophie guided me with her knowledge and the end result was exactly what I wanted. A big thank you to Sophie & Jackie, for our magnificent curtains, they were delivered to our front balcony door, complete with masks (Covid Time) and we installed them. Our tracks etc, we installed sometime ago. When we unwrapped the curtains they even came with great instructions on the easiest way to hang them, so that we had 2 hands free to… clip onto the rods. Your responses were prompt and helpful in a way we have not previously experienced, and they are beautifully made, big windows require big curtains. I would highly recommend you both, and wish you all the best for the future

We are thrilled with the service and product we received from Sophie and Jackie. Due to our place being an empty new build they were able to come and do a measure, quote and installation of roller blinds during COVID restrictions. Importantly, they were friendly, efficient and did an excellent job. We definitely recommend this local small business and will use them again for sure.

Our experience with Spectrum Curtains and Blinds surpassed all of our expectations. We have massive windows and lots of them and really weren't sure what dressings we could choose to work with our home and garden. Sophie came and talked through our options, made suggestions we hadn't thought of, and nailed the vision we weren't sure we'd be able to achieve. Spectrum Curtains and Blinds are wonderful to deal with. Our new blinds and curtains have transformed our home. Sophie and Jackie at Spectrum Curtains & Blinds are FABULOUS! I have had SO many visitors compliment me for my blinds! They are very professional, their communication throughout the process was great and they have a keen eye for detail and colour coordination.
I’m really satisfied with the quality of our blinds and the way they actively timed the installation of them with our house settlement. Sophie even installed some of our blinds when the house didn’t have any power yet!
