Patrick (Licence No. 5069866) is responsible for all pest control operations carried out by Austrapest.
Termites are a beneficial insect in the bush as they help in the breakdown of organic matter. However, a few species attack timbers in service (in other words structural timber in our homes), causing thousands of dollars worth of damage, generally not covered by home owners insurance. There are over 350 species in Australia with about 30 capable of causing damage to timber in service.
Austrapest deals with borers in structural timbers only. For fumigation of individual pieces of imported furniture for borers - contact your supplier or customs service for more information. Don't worry - the first step is call Austrapest for expert advice. We will recommend an Austrapest Visual Timber Pest Inspection to determine the species, extent of damage, and advice on management.
Wood decay will occur when there is a high level of moisture present. This could be caused from poor ventilation, plumbing leaks or drainage problems. High moisture can also attract other pest problems such as termites, borers, cockroaches and rats, the latter 2 posing significant health risks if left unchecked.

We were referred to Austrapest and contacted them for an inspection. After some too-ing and fro-ing we eventually arranged for an inspection at an agreed time. The technician arrived late and advised us that he then had to drive to another appointment after completing our inspection. To cut to the chase, we had to engage another group as he missed a number of critically important identifiers that left us vulnerable. I won't comment on their service as i feel that there needs to be some attempt at customer relation building for service to be considered a factor.

I’ve been a client of AustraPest since 2014, and during this time I have found the team to be exceptional in their customer service, knowledge and professionalism.
