Services
Unless your job is a business premises or a huge building - in which case a project manager or interior designer will usually oversee it - a painters quote is not a complex document with hard to figure out fine print. Generally speaking what is agreed upon when accepting a quote is that the stated rooms or external features will be painted with a specified number of coats on the specified walls, ceilings and timber.
Painters are really only interested in painting your walls and ceilings and woodwork. Any furniture that comes between them and the wall, will be carefully shoved in the middle of the room and covered with a drop cloth. The most effective and considerate preparation you can do before your painter arrives is to pack up any nick nacks loose on the top.
For minimalistic interior painting and to open up your rooms space, use pale, pastel colours - especially whites, beiges and creams. All-one-colour interiors are both extremely fashionable and easy to live with. Pure white will require 1-2 more coats than an off white will, to ensure the paint covers well.
