With almost 20 years of experience in building design and interior design, Sophie Pedersen Design offers services in the following areas. Full building design service from concept design though to building approval and construction drawings, co-ordination with engineers and contract administration for new build homes; multiple dwellings, renovations and alterations to existing buildings as well as commercial projects.
Extensive renovations to a pole home at Cape Tribulation, Far North Queensland for clients aiming to holiday let the property. The works included structural stabilisation and site drainage, construction of a new laundry and an entry pavilion, along with alterations to the bathroom and kitchen. We also created a master plan for future works proposed.
Two adjoining four bedroom holiday villas on a steeply sloping site high on Flagstaff Hill. Contemporary in style, the villas were designed to make the most of the spectacular views over Four Mile Beach with a focus on the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces and capturing breezes. Set at differing levels to maintain privacy, each villa has its own pool and gardens.
Alterations and additions to a large Cape Cod style home with views over Sydney harbour and the Pacific beyond. A carport was added and the driveway and front garden altered to provide more usable space on the steeply sloping site. The interior spaces were reconfigured to add a large ensuite bathroom and dressing room to the master bedroom, larger children's bedrooms and a self-contained guest suite at the top floor.
Complete refurbishment of a 1980's villa set within rural vineyards in the French Riviera. With the aim of operating the property as a luxury holiday rental, the owners required the creation of additional ensuite bathrooms and a new self contained apartment within the undercroft, along with new finishes throughout.
