The business has worked with clients from The Cape, across to Normanton and down to south-east Queensland. Our QBCC Licence allows us to design for all building classifications and all building heights.

JB Design have been in business in Cairns since 1977 and the company designs to suit the market and client instructions; with every design being unique. The JB design-office employs a 'flexible' approach to each project, that allows us to work closely with individual clients; paying attention to any distinctive detailing the client might wish to incorporate.
Sometimes a project will give us the opportunity to combine traditional integrity with modern functionality. One such example is the Global Palace Backpackers Hostel in Lake Street. The client's brief in 2001 was to commission JB Design to redevelopment the old Palace Picture Theatre in Lake Street, Cairns into a contemporary backpackers' hostel.
JB can represent you by managing the intricacies of a planning application on your behalf. Examples are listed below. Repairs: List Defects and Check standard of Completion and compliance with the National Construction Code/Australian Standards. When required, we will crawl under floors, climb atop rooves, step through and around buildings, measure, and photograph, all completed to ensure each detail is identified, listed and accurately reported.
