Established in 1993 by Brisbane furniture maker and designer Mark Mills. Lacewood is a boutique furniture company passionate about crafting unique furniture, specialising in early to mid 20th century design. We also offer an Australia wide freight service at affordable prices. His passion for early 20th Century Antique furniture is reflected in the Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts and Art Deco aesthetics prevalent in the Classic Timber Furniture range.
The swirling organic carvings, clean bold lines and quiet sophistication of these influences have helped shape timeless pieces that are still fresh and relevant today. The Contemporary timber furniture collection is an exciting range of contemporary pieces that combine clean, natural styling with beautiful Australian hardwoods.
The range reflects a minimal, modern aesthetic while still offering interesting visual elements of a quality piece of handmade furniture. The emphasis has always been on quality solid timbers, carefully handpicked for individual grain and figure.

Lacewood furniture was established in 1993 by Brisbane furniture maker and designer Mark Mills. My aim has always been to create handmade furniture pieces that reflect my own personal taste. Each piece has to have that special 'handmade' quality that I hope everyone (even those not particularly interested in furniture design) can see, feel and appreciate.
A compact 1250 diameter version of the classic Tripod Dining table, shown here in American Oak. The angled tripod base. A striking combination of American hardwood timbers, this minimal design works nicely with an American Oak top accented. Handmade matching Art Deco Coffee and Side Tables with distinctive shaped legs and open shelf.
A refined & elegant Pencil Four Poster Bed based on an a classic American 'Pencil Post' design. A classic Queen size Art Nouveau bed, featuring an exquisite Tulip motif carving that was popularised in the Federation. A bold paneled silky oak bed with solid lines that are accentuated by a delicate bolection moulding to give a masculine.
Rosewood is a medium density hardwood that grows across South-East Asia. The heartwood varies from a lovely rich golden brown through to a rich deep red, although we generally only feature the red tones on request. The figured grain in Rosewood is particularly attractive, frequently including swirls, fiddleback, burrs and more.

Have just had my Art Nouveau Tulip silky oak wood bed delivered and it is absolutely beautiful. The craftmanship is stunning and it makes me happy in my heart to have such a beautiful piece of furniture. The bed is easy to assemble and very strong (I was worried it might be rickety - not at all - it is very sturdy - so well designed). It truly is just beautiful. Mark was lovely too - easy to speak to to discuss styles and availability, and kept me up to date with the progress of the bed's construction and delivery. I adore the bed, am so glad I found his website and would recommend him without

It was a pleasure dealing with Mark from Lacewood Furniture. He is a true craftsman and created the most beautiful dining table for us. It was a pleasure dealing with an artisan who knows his craft and takes so much pride in his work. We now have a dining table that will be passed down the generations.

I can't recommend Lacewood Furniture enough. Mark made a exceptionally beautiful bed from natural rosewood for me. His integrity is excellent, part of my bed was damaged by the carrier and he sorted out damage and I had a beautiful bed again within the week. I look forward to collecting more pieces from Lacewood Furniture.

Mark Mills is a master craftsman. He made a silky oak wardrobe and a chest of drawers for us 10 years ago, and just recently a matching king size bed frame - the Art Noveau - Tulip (with hidden foot). It is simply stunning with exquisite hand carved patterns. The quality of his work is the best I have ever seen. Highly recommended.

Mark made me a beautiful set of bedside chests and the workmanship is fantastic! I cannot recommend Lacewood Furniture highly enough.
Fantastic to see a local company producing quality furniture, that is so well constructed our children will probably inherit it.
Next up a new dining table with matching coffee table.

Mark built three pieces for us to custom designs including the an Arts and Crafts bed to a variation of a Voysey design a desk and a standard lamp. The attention to detail, communication during manufacture, the depth of knowledge about construction, timbers and finishing, and the quality of the end product, were all outstanding. We highly recommend Lacewood furniture.

Working with Mark from Lacewood Furniture to design the TV cabinet / book case for my home was an incredibly positive experience. The outcome was truly remarkable! Mark is professional and a very capable crafts person. His work is meticulous. It is clear he is passionate about what he does. I would strongly recommend anyone looking for that special furniture piece for it to be handcrafted by Mark.

We bought four pieces of Lacewood bedroom furniture about 20 years ago and they look as good today as when we bought them. That has to be attributed to the fact that they were created by someone (namely Mark Mills) who valued quality over quantity. One only has to look at the detail of the construction to understand why the pieces have stood up so well. Mark also provided great personal service, coming to our home to change the dresser hardware to match the existing bedside tables. We will be leaving the furniture to one of our grandchildren and we are sure that they will be appreciated for at
