We specialise in repairing rotten windows. All of our work is completed onsite by a skilled professional. Our repairs are generally 25% the cost of replacement. You wont have to go through the disruption of removing a window or of having both sides painted.

We can remove the old thin glass from your windows and replace it with thicker laminated glass, which can reduce noise and temperature change by up to 50%.To do this the old frames need to be machined to allow for the thicker glass, then reinstalled and balanced again. It's a great way to keep the integrity of your windows without spending a fortune.

The sash is a framed piece of glass that slides up and down (double-hung), or an awning sash can be pushed out at the bottom. Often they cannot be repaired successfully and are better replaced. We will replace them to the exact measurement and have them working like new.
Services
How do you stop the rot? We will machine off all the paint in the affected area to reveal the full extent of the rot. Then we know exactly where to cut off the rot. After the rot has been removed we paint the cut with a copper based timber preservative. Which is similar to treated pine. Do you service a greater area of Melbourne?
Double glazing can reduce temperature fluctuations by close to four times that of your standard glass. To achieve this the double-glazed unit has to have the optimal gap of 12 mm, filled with argon gas, plus a Low "E" coating on one side of the unit. Low "E" coated glass (low emissivity coated glass) results from a manufacturing process where additives are baked into the glass.
From the commencement of the work we were impressed with the careful and meticulous attention to preparation, the detailed exposure of suspect areas where rot was present or beginning, and the proper treatment applied. We have found Steve a reliable, committed, punctual, careful (even to the point of obsessional) and a most professional and competent artisan.
