We've been looking into Solar options recently and were contacted by National Grid somehow via an online form.
We had previously been in line to receive solar through our councils local solar scheme but that got cancelled due to covid just as we were set to sign up.
National grid called to confirm a date to come by and quote us, which we did. What we didn't (naively) realise at the time was that the meeting was in fact a sales call.
The "rep" (salesman) who came to discuss our options spent 1.5 hrs in kitchen running us through their (NGSS') package and thoroughly dived into our electricity

From the moment Sam from the NGSS team arrived, we felt we were in good hands. We spoke about our garden, our bees, our passion for sustainability and the reasons we wanted solar. NGSS contacted my wife, they were really keen to visit our home, talk to us and quote on a solar system. I have a low opinion of solar panel sales calls with so many unscrupulous dealers, my wife checked out their website and assured me they look legit. They texted a day before to confirm the appointment, we confirmed and were prepared for our 90 minute time slot. That time came and went, it was a no show, NGSS made no attempt to contact us and explain what happened. When I phoned and asked for an explanation, there was none.

We signed up Dec 2019 and six months later the install still hadn't happened. Communication with the installer here in Tassie and with head office was almost none existent. Ended up terminating the contract. Other family members had the installer turn up onsite without even telling them they were coming. Sorry but we can't recommend NGSS.

Our experience with NGSS has been very good. The sales representative was not pushy but realistically explained the solar heating installation process and how it could help us. He took the time to explain all the details so that we understood. The guys who actually did the installation were very professional and turned up on the designated day.
We are waiting eagerly for our first electricity bill since having solar installed to see how much we have saved.
