Cockroaches are adaptable, fast-breeding scavengers that will eat anything that humans do and quite a bit more including faecal matter and fermenting garbage. They are nocturnal at home in a dark, warm humid place including under the sink, in dishwashers, behind heating equipment, behind wallpaper, in kitchen cupboards and drawers, and in cracks and crevices.
Crickets belong to the Order Orthoptera and are found on every continent on earth except Antarctica. This order of insects encompasses, grasshoppers, crickets and locusts with most being non-problematic, other than a few species that can cause major damage to farming industries when they swarm. Crickets unlike grasshoppers and locusts do not generally fly or hop as they usually use their strong front arms to dig, climb and walk.
Unfortunately, when the warmer weather hits, these little critters can be hard to control, especially if you have pets that go outside. Keeping up with regular vaccinations and flea treatments for your pets will help but if you do find fleas have gotten into your home then quick treatment is necessary, otherwise you could find the problem getting out of control.
This fly is the most widely distributed insects across the globe making its home on almost every continent. In appearance, the common house fly adult is usually 6- 7 mm in length with four narrow black stripes running along its thorax with a grey or yellowish abdomen and a dark midline. It also usually has irregular dark markings on the sides.
