Hi, I am Shaun and I wanted to tell you a bit about how SS Floors started. SS Floors is a family owned and operated business with over 10 years' experience in the epoxy flooring industry and is based in Arundel, servicing the Gold Coast, Brisbane and surrounding areas. Polished concrete is the choice of flooring for many retailers, home-owners, industrial areas and offices. This is simply because of the advantages polished concrete offers over other types of flooring solutions. Decorative concrete in the form of polished concrete floors is becoming the preferred choice because of the great value it delivers, and it is visually pleasing as well.
A Grind and Seal floor is a cost effective method of achieving a 'polished concrete' look. Even though I have referred to Grind and Seal as a "polished concrete look" please understand that both finishes are completely different. A Grind and Seal finish is achieved by machine grinding the concrete floor to the desired exposure followed by a Surface Sealer in either Acrylic, Epoxy or Polyurethane to give the concrete a matt, satin or gloss look.

First of all we had no idea what we wanted to get done to our garage floor, all we knew was we didnt want the dirty grey concrete anymore, Shaun came around and we discussed all our different options. We ended up getting a Polished Concrete look. The Grind and Seal that the boys did looks fantastic. It has made a massive difference to opening the garage door these days.

I had been looking at stained concrete on my patio for such a long time and I now wish that I had contacted SS Floors sooner. Having no idea about the different kind of finishes and their purposes, Shaun's knowledge certainly made our job easy with picking the best finish for our patio.
