Usually they have outgrown their space and realise that moving is unaffordable. My kids are approaching the dreaded teenage years and I understand the dynamics of a growing family.
I pride myself on being able to present to you a creative design solution to your problem. I can tell you immediately if your budget is reasonable for the renovation you would like to do. I offer free consultations at your home, my office or over the phone. Following our meeting I will prepare a fixed fee proposal and email that through to you.
My proposal not only includes my fees but all the other consultants and permit fees that you may require through the journey. It's important you have all the information up front before you begin and my exhaustive proposal explains each stage of the process. UK registered Architect and Australian building practitioner, Rob Harris, formed Elements of Home in 2005, specialising in residential renovations around the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Elements of Home is a one-stop shop design service. From concept to completion. Together with a select team of design professionals we ensure sure every aspect of the design is managed professionally and effectively.
Rob was fantastic to work with. A great listener, thorough, a clear communicator with quick turnaround times. He left decision making to us but tested any of our non-standard ideas and made smart suggestions (which we ended up using). He went out of his way to be helpful for our specific needs. Great value for money.
Rob Harris, Director of Elements of Home, studied as an Architect in the UK. He has practiced in Australia for over 10 years and is registered in Australia as a draftsman. Both a draftsman and an Architect should produce technically competent construction drawings. But most often, this is the only similarity between the two.
We feel so fortunate and grateful to have had Rob work with us on our challenging project. We are first time renovators/builders with no contacts or experience in the industry and, after a very disappointing experience with the first designer we worked with, we desperately needed someone who would look after us.
