N & B Russell Building is an independent construction company founded in 2000 and based in Newcastle. Led by Nathan Russell, the company has quickly established a reputation for excellence in project delivery and is the preferred building contractor for many of Newcastle's best architects. The strength of the relationship between client, builder and designer is essential to a successful residential project.
Clients and architects return year after year to N & B Russell Building for the company's personalised service and attention detail. This is in no small part due to the company's deliberate business strategy of concentrating on a select number of projects each year so that it can deliver the service promised.
The success of this approach can be measured by the numerous Master Builders Association and Institute of Architects awards and nominations the company has achieved. N & B Russell Building understands that building a private residence is a long and demanding experience for anyone, and that each client's needs and expectations are different.

Services
This exceptional contemporary residence overcame numerous site and construction challenges to provide a fit-for-purpose home for a couple and their two teenage children. The site was previously occupied by a split level 1970s brick which was demolished to make way for a 2 storey timber-framed building clad in Equitone and a light weight foam render system.
Located at the tip of Coal Point, the steep fall of this residence's site provides fantastic vistas across Lake Macquarie but created many challenges for the builder during construction. The design called for the existing home to be partially demolished and original retaining walls removed and rebuilt.
The McGowan residence in Cooks Hill provides an innovative building response to the heritage constraints in this popular inner city suburb of Newcastle. Although the original residence was not heritage listed, it was located within a heritage area, and therefore architect and builder collaborated to ensure that the alterations and additions created an appropriate civic presence in keeping with the surrounding streetscape.
