Tom Vartzokas began trading as Vartzokas Architects in March of 1980 as a sole practitioner, opening the first office in Hyde Park SA. Early projects included housing renovations and single and multiple dwellings. The practice grew and became more involved in the construction process of small domestic projects.
This level of involvement provided the early understanding that good design and practical solutions can be achieved without high costs. During the 1990's and into 2000, the practice worked on larger residential projects, small commercial developments, aged care facilities, and emergency services buildings.
For over 38 years Vartzokas Architects have been plying the art of producing architectural design solutions that respond to their client's needs. Whilst the practice of Architecture is a collaborative process between architect and client, we regard ourselves as the "conduit" through which the client designs his/her building.

Services
The "Sketch Design process" represents the first stage of our architectural design service. Upon receiving the client brief, we begin the process of researching the relevant statutory requirements (planning and building), we consider the environmental influences on the site and we begin the initial conceptual schematics that develop into the sketch proposals.
We have successfully designed and managed numerous mid rise residential and mixed use projects for a number of private developers in the Mawson Lakes, Northgate, Brompton, Torrensville, Henley Beach and Bowden. We bring to the fore the collective experience of having designed buildings in areas where energy efficiency and price point were very important.
