He completed a Bachelor of Construction in New Zealand in 2008 he worked as a professional quantity surveyor and project manager for numerous commercial and residential projects in New Zealand and Australia. After moving to Australia in 2010 he continued to build on his knowledge and continue to develop a passion of sustainable construction and healthy homes.

Prior to European settlement, the Big Scrub rainforest covered 75,000ha, extending from the coastal plain inland from Ballina to Lismore, and from Meerschaum Vale to Byron Bay and the Nightcap. It was the largest expanse of lowland subtropical rainforest in Australia, one of the most bio-diverse places on the earth, and it descended from the great Gondwana rainforest that covered Australia 40 million years ago.
