Abben Art is a landscape design and construction business based in the beautiful coastal town of Rye on the Mornington Peninsula. We service all areas across the Peninsula. Design, create and inspire are fundamental principles in our approach to conceiving and creating beautiful and functional gardens.
A well-designed garden becomes an extension to your home, dramatically increasing your living space and encouraging everyone to enjoy the outdoors. Estate agents estimate that a good garden design can add 28% to your property's value. If you are buying with the idea of renovating and selling, a good garden with professional landscaping not only adds extra appeal, but will also add value, helping to sell your property.
The initial garden consultation is valuable time spent with you, held on-site. We look at and discuss your individual garden and landscaping needs, taking into consideration local Mornington Peninsula landscaping environmental factors such as drought tolerance of plants, soil conditions, wind exposure, water availability and the health of existing plants.
A vegetation survey/landscape plan is often required by local councils as part of planning permissions and needs to be prepared by a suitably qualified person. All trees identified, noting their Latin names, common names, trunk diameter and canopy size. The vegetation survey/landscape plan will show proposed new planting, often conforming to the council's policy regarding use of natives and indigenous plants.

Clive and his team designed a plan to structure our bush garden without destroying its rustic nature. The necessary mess of construction was short lived and at the end there was little sign that they had been there. The final result was a great use of the space and balancing of the textures used in the landscaping. The rustic nature aesthetic has been preserved and we look forward to making good use of the improved area.
