Services
Solar Charge uses 40 years of proven experience and reliability to deliver cost effective solutions, on time and on budget. Started as a small family business in the early 1970's Solar Charge pioneered solar off grid systems in rural Victoria operating from its Martin St shop including an award winning house in 1975.
The use of solar panels in Australia for homes has skyrocketed in the past 5 years. When Solar Charge pioneered and installed our first solar power system on a Melbourne suburban home way back in 1998 the most common type of solar panel (PV module) was crystalline silicon (X-Si). They come in two forms: Monocrystalline Si and Polycrystalline Si.
Solar Charge has been supplying and installing solar electricity power systems to homes in rural areas for over 40 years. An Off-Grid Solar Power System can be designed and installed to provide enough power to run your household appliances you can have 240V power 365 days a year. Contact us for the best in energy efficient system design, pricing, installation and the current Government incentives.
Liz and I installed a grid connect solar power system from Solar Charge P/L for our new environmentally friendly house almost four years ago. We have been delighted with our solar power for homes. It does what Solar Charge promised. Our usage bills on the house are almost zero over the year and we look forward to the Victorian feed-in-tariff giving us more credits in the future.

Having bought an iBoost 4 years ago my immersion developed a fault. Marley engineering have been very helpful with my questions even though the two year warranty has long expired.
Solid British business, professional, considerate and diligent. Thank you.

I am now on my 4th iBoost in three years.
First one went totally dead after 13months and Marlec graciously replaced, this lasted for 11 months. I decided to have my immersion replaced just to be sure despite only being about five years old. I had to pay them 120£ for a new unit which I have subsequently found to be refurbished. This lasted just over 4 months before tripping my circuit breaker and becoming display and totally dead four the third time. So as to be perfectly fair to Marlec I employed an electrician to thoroughly vet my system and find a fault, he couldn’t so another £100 wasted

I have found that the person who returned my call was very helpful. Janine talked me through the whole process of programming my iboost. It's a little bit confusing in the instruction booklet, but was made very simple when explained by Janine.

A company that is just not trying hard enough. We purchased a Solar iBoost from Marlec and had problems from the first 6 months. We got through 5 iBoosts in 4 years and Marlec were not interested in fixing the issue we had that would cause the iBoost to fail. From 5 units we had 3 different failures.
As a unit the Solar iBoost seems a very fragile and with the constant failures we had, the cost of returning the unit to Marlec and the cost of an electrician to manage the installs the unit actually cost us more money that it saved.
Marlec only offer a 1 year warranty and if you are looking to buy

I also found the customer sales section to be quite hard and arrogant. No empathy at all! Also, not very helpful. If you can I would advise to go elsewhere.

Had an iBoost+ fitted, which does the job - but unfortunately the customer service of this company is absolutely appalling. Despite getting an installation in Jan 2020, I received one of their old products which conflicts with battery storage (the product was updated in April 2019 - so they must have a really slow supply chain). Customer Support just wanted me to spend even more money on the upgrade and wouldn't even consider an exchange. Couldn't recommend this company as a result.
