Established in 1983 by renewables expert Stuart Watson, Wauchope Solar has designed and installed hundreds of renewable energy projects on the Mid North Coast of NSW and Lord Howe Island. In 1985 Stuart installed solar equipment for Australia's first solar powered community radio station, 2WAY FM, on Mount Cairncross NSW 2446.

From small household systems designed to offset your daily energy usage, to 100 kW commercial systems on large roof spaces, we provide a full yield prediction and ongoing service to the systems we install.
Wauchope Solar has provided grid-connected solar PV solutions to over 20 commercial customers in Wauchope and Port Macquarie. These installations range in size from 10 Kilowatts to 99 Kilowatts with a total installed capacity of several megawatts. Prior to installation we will analyse a recent electricity bill and conduct a site inspection.
Hybrid solar photovoltaic systems generate power in the same way as grid-connected solar PV systems but use a hybrid inverter(s) and batteries to store energy to levelise the cost of electricity. Hybrid systems can be designed using a string inverter or micro-inverters. Not all the hybrid system configurations operate without the grid being available.
An off-grid photovoltaic system supplies electricity to a property that is not connected to the public electricity network. It is often referred to as a 'stand-alone power system' and functions as an independent power station. The four main components of an off-grid system are a solar array, a battery bank, an inverter-charger and a generator.
