Rook Building
Rook Building is a Local Wallsend NSW business supporting other local Novocastrian tradespeople and suppliers. Staffed by a multi skilled builder able to Lay bricks, do Carpentry, Plaster, Floor/wall tiling, Paint and more; you can engage our services for one trade or to manage your job from beginning to end.

I quote all the jobs and provide you with a fixed price and build time with no hidden extras. Everything you need to know is explained upfront, so you'll get as much clarity as possible. I was born and bred Novocastrian. I started in the building industry after completing year 11 in 1990 then started as an apprentice bricklayer in 1991.

I finished my apprenticeship in 1996 were I then worked alongside a builder for several year building architect design homes. Performing tasks like tying steel, pouring concrete, standing frames and trusses, laying bricks, installing windows, doors and plastering.
Services
With the client being an elderly gentleman the shower over the bath was near impossible for him to get into. He really needed help with his situation, so we got to work. We started by stripping the room totally and patching the roof and installing a new ceiling. We made it a walk-in shower (no door or hob) frame-less glass shower panel, no bath.
For ensuring the safety and durability of this classic house, clients called us to help them with the renovation. And we have done a complete renovation. We also made the kitchen look new with Caesar Stone top and stainless-steel Westinghouse appliances. After that, we proceeded to renovate the living room.
A deck is a great way to enjoy a summers day overlooking your yard a watching the kid playing. I'm sure this is every parents dream. This client call us to make this dream a reality. They discussed making the deck bigger with more room for the extended family to sit and relax. We then install a bench sit at one end of the deck and another standing bench/bar at other end.
This home was a small, re-locatable house with 2 bedrooms. The client wanted to extend this little house for more convenience and space for their growing family. After that, we poured concrete mix to pier holes where we laid down brick piers. We also install H3 LVL bearer & joist, a 19mm green Tongue & compressed flooring in the en-suite area.
This was a very old house located in Birmingham garden in Newcastle that the client used as a rental property. Upon checking the area, we started by removing the bottom cabinetry and bench top, as well as other amenities present in the kitchen, like the ancient oven. After completeing the repairs, we installed the new base units and added the new laminated bench top.

We have used Andy for our ongoing renos over the past 6 years. He has done a fabulous job and has provided helpful suggestions along the way.
I have challenged him with some "different" choices and he has always made it work. The house is looking amazing, his attention to detail and proffesionalism is outstanding. Would highly recommend him! PS ...the renos are almost done!!

I've used Andrew and Rook Building a few times, very happy with the work delivered. Communication about what could be done, what could work better - Andrew knows his stuff and delivers on what he says he will.
