DIY Cabin Company offers a selection of high quality engineered timber building kits produced in Europe by Tene Kaubandus of Estonia. Tene Kaubandus is privately owned and has been manufacturing cabins since 1997. They are a world leader in mass production of timber building kits with a current production capacity of 28,000 cabins annually and expansion is underway to accommodate their newly acquired export markets.
A milled log offers a cleaner look than conventional round logs. Milled logs are easy to handle and stack on top each other using a tongue and groove joint with interlocking airtight corners. Each piece is consistent in size, easy to package and transport. Assembly does not require a skilled tradesperson and can be done by almost anyone.
We can include your specific order in our regular shipments arriving from the factory in Estonia. All DIY Cabin Company kit prices include GST and Timbersafe which is applied as a once-only timber treatment (see FAQ for more information). Our kit includes ceiling boards but does not include the outer roofing.
The assembly process went very well. It took about 4 days to lock up stage and that included digging holes and cementing foundations prior to installing the bearers and then getting to grips with the cabin assembly. The building of the cabin was quite straightforward. Once the initial wall timbers were fixed to the foundations the rest followed on easily and quickly once a routine was established.
