The NBN will be rolled out over the whole of Australia within the next couple of years, and if your alarm system sends signals on a phone line, this could mean you will lose service. Traditional alarm systems communicate back to base by making a phone call to send alarm signals. With the rollout of the NBN, phone lines will be changed from analogue lines to digital, which will affect the communications for most alarm panels.
Wired Security Systems rely solely on wires (cables) to connect each security device to your security system. For example, a cable must be run from your Security System Hub to the motion detector in your upstairs bedroom for it to function as part of your security system. A wired system requires less maintenance than a wireless system, but usually requires more labor time for the installation.

I have had my house remotely monitored by AlarmZone for approximately 10 years. I find them reliable and responsive, which is what you need in a monitoring company. In particular their support and onsite maintenance for the alarms equipment is excellent.
