It's a race against time for all FA sufferers and their families and it's a race that is close to home for the owner of Element Surface Repair Solutions, Chris whose daughter Alex was diagnosed with Friedreich Ataxia when she was 5 years old.
FA is a fatal, genetic, neurological disease affecting 1 in 30,000 people. FA initially causes a lack of coordination, slurred speech and difficulty walking, usually striking during childhood. As it progresses, FA causes complete incapacitation, vision, hearing and speech failure, combined with severe heart disease, scoliosis and diabetes.
In later stages, patients usually suffer from cardiac failure 15 - 20 years after diagnosis. Intellect remains unimpaired. FA causes a greatly reduced life expectancy. Chris hopes that she can create awareness for The Friedreich Ataxia Research Association (FARA Australasia) which is a not-for-profit organisation, whose sole purpose is to support research which will treat and cure Friedreich Ataxia (FA).

We called Stephen in to look at a repair we needed in our caravan as 'someone' had caused an indention!! He arrived on the day and time booked. We thought he was going to have a look and give us a quote but he actually did the repair. Amazing job the indentation was repaired and now the worktop looks like new. Will recommend Stephen and use him again if need be. Thank you Stephen

-See 4 point guarantees on website: 'RELIABLE - I will turn up on the time and date we agreed for the repair.' Agreed booked in 04/09/20, then he cancelled on 08/09/20.
-Website says prices start at £70. For a very small kitchen worktop chip repair alone he said the 'standard price' was £110!
