Divide lengths longer than 12 metres into two lengths and add 0.1 metres to allow for the overlap join. You'll need one gutter clip for each metre of gutter. Determine the number of gutter clips required and whether they are to be fixed to a timber or metal structure. Down pipes don't usually need to be replaced each time you replace your gutters.
It is however, necessary to replace the top portion of the down pipe, often hidden within the eaves. You will require one length of down pipe for each down pipe top you replace. If you do need to replace the full down pipe a standard down pipe will require two 1.8metre lengths of down pipe. You will also require a down pipe clip and two nylon anchors for each length of down pipe you replace.
