Everyone we dealt with was friendly, professional and went out of their way to be helpful. We were moving interstate on a fairly tight budget with 30 years’ worth of hoarding to be moved. From the agreed quote through to the removal date everything was securely locked in, and on moving day David and Stu treated each and every item as if it was their own favourite possession.

Unfortunately I’ve had my furniture removed ( third party) by this lot. A bedframe that cost over $1200, slept on for a week. I have photographs of my furniture two days before it was picked up by John Ryan… Removals luckily otherwise I’d have no grounds for my insurance claim. I received my bed with extensive damage and had literal chunks taken out of it, roughly 76 points of damage. No communication with John Ryan Removals from the beginning of them moving my furniture. condition reports, I didn’t even know existed until 3 weeks after I put in my insurance claim have

Used John Ryan Removals for my recent house move in Melbourne. Found them good to deal with. Had a consultant call at house and check all the items to be moved before a quote given. As a result nice big truck of the right size and four staff turned up on the day and were very efficient. Nothing broken or damaged.

Our experience moving to New Zealand with the help (or lack thereof) of John Ryan Removals has been terrible. Initially, they were quick and professional through the quoting and booking and packing process. I was impressed. However when it came to shipping the container (and they had received payment in full) everything ground to a halt. Terrible communication (no response to emails, never once were available to talk to me when I would call (multiple times a day) and have never called back).
Moving to a new country is stressful enough, but dealing with this has made it even more stressful.

Not Good at all.. we moved interstate during COVID, the guys who packed the truck were amazing. However my car did not arrive till a week late and my camper trailer was 2 1/2 weeks late. Not only that a box with some valuable thing in it is missing. I have filled out all the paperwork but now I’m not getting any response from staff.. For the ridiculous amount of money we spent, I did expect a better service.

They moved us from a 5th floor flat with a small lift and a fair way to go to the road with great efficiency, doing the complete job of clearing the flat in just over 1 hour. We were moving to the country and the move in to our new place was just as efficient, just over the hour. Nothing was scratched or broken, all was just fine. Personnel at both ends (the move was done in two stages) very obliging, cheerful and polite.

Moving is never easy but we were wrapped with our choice of John Ryan removals from the quotation stage through to completion of our move. Our sales rep Keith was at all times polite, courteous and kept us well informed of the timetable and process. We originally wanted Chess removals, but they no longer work out of Melbourne. They team up with John Ryan removals. We booked them from Melbourne to Adelaide, but had to put the move on ice because of the border closures. Eventually went ahead with the removal. They were so patient with us. They were great. Professional and so friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend them, and would definitely use them again.

John Ryan Removalists are true professionals! Brilliant service from the first contact to the completion of our move. Thanks to the great communication we exactly knew what to expect on the day. We had a lot of quite heavy furniture and a number of large pot plants. The four guys who were quite coordinated loaded two trucks with our stuff applying great care. We were moving to a two storey house on a hot day... with no air-conditioning working . Our removalists manoeuvred heavy pieces of furniture up the stairs with great skill and quite happily returning some pieces back downstairs when we asked

Right from the start they acted professionally and impressed me! This was further confirmed as our move drew closer- their communication was spot on and I knew at every stage what was happening. On the day of our move their guys arrived on time, as promised and nothing was too hard for them. Even as Melbourne threw some of the worst weather at them , they soldiered on and just got it done! Massive thankyou to the amazing tetris kings David Dervan and his offsider Steve and the other guys who came with the back up truck and helped get our stuff perfectly packed in 1 container. I can only hope your counterparts in Perth can unpack it as perfectly. *edited* counterparts in Perth were pathetic all bar 2 boxes were left down stairs.… Nothing reassembled as they carried no tools. Yet they claim to have offered. How could they offer to do something they had no tools for. Response from John Ryan is we have to take it up with this end. Which is crap We paid you it is Your responsibility

We engaged John Ryan Removals based on the experience and recommendation of friends. Our move from Melbourne to regional Victoria occurred during the second COVID lockdown. We were very happy with the whole experience from the quote process, delivery of packing materials and the actual move itself.
Only one item was broken and that because it wasn't packed by us as well as it could have been. All the staff were professional, courteous, careful and obliging and we have no hesitation in recommending them or using their services again.

John Ryan was recommended to me by a company in Canberra my family had previously used. JR was efficient, took care with my furniture and it arrived to Canberra in a very timely manner. Their quote was very competitive and they were the first removal company I’ve used that arrived on time. Would recommend JR and their office is very responsive to any questions.
