I purchased bankers lights for my son Troy's fifteenth birthday party, we have insisted he aims for a career in investment banking. He has a lisp and I am increasingly concerned about his effeminate mannerisms and says he wants to be a dancer, but he was quite taken by the ornate designs in the desk lamps we arranged for he and his (mostly female and rather unfortunate looking) friends. We have taken this as a sign that all is not lost. Thanks, Light Up Balgowlah!

Worst customer experience: guy promised product to be ready on Monday. I come until the Friday and get told that the pendant is coming on Saturday. He says that he doesn't manages the transport (?). He then asks me what's the difference between Friday or Saturday. Once I finally get the pendant, it comes all terribly wrapped up. No instructions or anything whatsoever. Lightbulb not working. 100% the worst. No wonder why Amazon, eBay and others are eating up their market. Won't be surprised when they go bankrupt.

This family owned and operated lighting store has an impressive selection of indoor and outdoor lighting options so you really need to seek the advice of the friendly staff who really know the ons and outs of which light is right for where. We were given several good alternates to solve our lighting dilemma but as the range is so vast we may not have found them on our own. When you visit you can also meet the resident cockatoo Charlie who is nudging 13 years old now and comes and goes to the store every day to keep an eye on things

Armen was very aggreessive and rude when I complained about their lack of a refund policy. He claimed he had made this clear when we bought the led lights but I disagreed. I dont think Ive ever had anyone berate me like that in a shop before. Avoid at all costs!

Great service and knowledge from this store. We bought a ceiling fan/light a few months ago. Our installer was impressed with the quality and my wife returned alone to buy more. Staff again took the time to discuss room size and needs to ensure the best fans were bought. They also provided help carrying and putting items into her car. Fantastic courteous old style service. Will return again as we finish renovating our house.

Shocking! Shocking! Shocking! They appear to be very friendly until they have your money. If there is any problem with the product, they would not deal with it. Instead, they tell the customer that it is hard to run a business and the customer would have no idea how hard it is! If it is so hard to run a business, we wonder why they are still doing it. Even if the problem is completely on their side (e.g. wrongly packed product, unacceptable delivery time) they would blame the customer for it!!!
They do not give any refund, they take your money and if they can't deliver, they will not give you

Have been dealing with Armen and the team at Light Up Balgowlah for a number of years now, we have purchased our light fittings from there and also recommended that our clients shop there, we’ve never had and issue with there customer service, pricing or warranty, all our customers always give us awesome feed back and thank us for the referral.
Armen has a wealth of knowledge in the lighting industry, from helping with our smaller projects to some of our more customised fit outs, nothing is an issue and delivery timing is never an issue.

As a local resident looking to support local business, I - like clearly many others - am extremely disappointed by the store’s refund policy. I returned an unopened brand new product within a week after I found out I unfortunately couldn’t install it. Instead of being offered a refund (which I would most likely have spent 10 times over as a happy returning customer) I will never buy from them again. Great initial customer service for the sale (on a product I could have bought slightly cheaper elsewhere) but terrible service thereafter. No wonder the larger chain stores make it difficult for
