We have been building stabilised rammed earth homes for more than 29 years in Tasmania. We have been involved in many award-winning rammed earth structures across Tasmania both houses and commercial buildings, from 600mm to 10m high walls, residences, fireplaces, Art Pieces, rammed earth floors and garden walls. You name it, we have more than likely built it. In 2005 we were one of the first Australian companies to develop and build insulated stabilised rammed earth wallsand insulated rammed earth lintels.
Services
Insulated earth walls range from 400mm to 450mm thick. They can be built with a either 50mm, 75mm or 100mm Styrofoam core in the middle of the wall that achieve up to an R-value of 4.3. Insulted rammed Earth walls are great for areas of a house that get shading in winter, for more extreme winter conditions a 450mm thick wall is the way to go.
Stabilised Rammed Earth is a mixture of gravel, sand, clay and small portion of cement plus a waterproof additive, engineered and rammed to create an extremely strong and durable wall system, we have achieved 19 Mpa with a recent compression test. The thickness is generally 300mm Standard or 400mm, insulated.
