Services
Metres Down Under Pty Ltd is committed to using ITH technology to increase safety and productivity in underground mining and has invested in the most modern ITH drill rigs and equipment available to achieve this. We have the capability of drilling holes from 90mm up to 760mm in diameter and are able to provide professional advice on any mining project where ITH drilling is utilized.
In the 20 years MDU have been in business all of our contracts have been successfully completed in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. Our expertise ranges from standard blast hole drilling, specialised underground Reverse Circulation drilling to V30 raise boring. All of this work can be achieved using the same machine which means less mobilisation costs and offers great mining flexibility.
Enquiries regarding ITH drilling can be made by emailing us or contacting our Kalgoorlie office. This will be forwarded to our Operations Manager who will follow up to discuss the proposed work. We can supply a budget quotation if required, but we would prefer to visit the operations to discuss the work in more detail with the relevant people then submit an accurate quote, along with expected drill rig availability.
MDU own and operate a modern fleet of heavy duty Cubex (now owned by Sandvik) electric drill rigs. The Cubex drill rigs are versatile units and are capable of drilling 100mm diameter blast holes up to 760mm diameter V30 raise bore hole using the same drill rig. The ability to drill a raise hole and blastholes with the same drill rig is a very cost effective method for excavating long ventilation shafts and mining stopes.
In-The-Hole (ITH) Hammer drilling is the most cost effective method available for drilling long, large diameter holes accurately, in underground operations. Underground reverse circulation drilling is an economical and fast drillhole sampling method for use in orebody delineation, ore reserve calculations and general exploration drilling.
