So, where shall I start....
When I called 2 hours after they were due to arrive it was just bad weather. They wouldn't be far and had meant to call me. Wind forward 3 hours and now they are stuck at the border. Don't worry they tell me they will call me in an hour with an update.
I call, and message, and well nothing. No answer and they did not call me.
The next morning. I phone. They answer the office and seem to be appalled at the fact the person who should have answered didn't as he told me it was a premium service and so this wasn't acceptable. Again he would chase up and call back. He didn

Avoid. Don't even consider them, no matter how cheap they might quote. The empty promises and hours you will spend following up with them is not remotely worth it.
We booked City Removalist for a very small job moving some furniture items from the South Coast through to Sydney. They were the only removalist company that would take the job, others were too busy and considered the job too small. So from the get go, City Removalist weren't our first choice.
Initial pickup date came and went, we rebooked again and again and again until it was clear they didn't want to do the job. At least 5 times

The 3 stars here are for Sandro from sales team. He was very responsive at all points in time and even took up my request at the very last moment.
Everything else was very poor. No communication between the back office and sales team. Promised date and time were changed twice. The people who showed up very unprofessional and caused damage to multiple items. They had taken so many jobs simultaneously and were in constant hurry. Unloading was not done properly. Charged more money than what i was initially quoted.

A very stressful experience moving apartments with City Removalist...
- my removalists did not show up at the requested time 12pm-3pm (arrived 2 hours later at 5pm so pretty much wasted my whole day waiting around for them to arrive)
- The Operations Team and Bookings Team ARE NOT on the same page, each team had their own version of how much my move would cost, items to move and pick-up/drop off - they use totally different systems that apparently don't talk to each other
- Most stressful thing about the day was being told that the removalists couldn't come that day to move my things, as they

Had them booked to move the contents of my house to storage as I'm going overseas for 3 months. Was given a window of between 12 and 3pm which wasn't ideal but every company seemed to be fully booked so I agreed. At 3pm I call them to find out what's happening only to be told they are still 4-5 hours away but apparently they are still coming. After many more phone calls chasing them up their operations manager calls at 8pm.....yes 8pm to say they're not coming. I understand things happen that are outwith companies control but the lack of communication, courtesy and etiquette was astounding. Save

Moving is already a very stressful time, but city removalists added to that stress significantly.
I suggest to reconsider before booking with city removalists. The team at the booking office are pleasant and made the booking process very easy.
But the Operations Manager and Managing people are ridiculous.
Our initial booking window 3pm - 6pm was missed and no one notified us nor did anyone pick up their phones when we called. We were only told an hour later that they couldn’t do it that day.
Our move was then rescheduled to the following day between 8am - 12pm, and that was missed again.

WORST experience. I was told that they would come at 7:00 AM, but received a call from the driver to cancel the booking. Then, I made 3 calls to complain this to the manager and finally arrange a smaller truck at 10:00AM. The workers refused to bring my bed head downstairs, So I did it myself. When arriving at the destination, the workers did not want to park and asked for extra money to unload my furniture. One of the worker just sit there and smoke, waiting for free money. It took more than 7 hours to move my 1 bedroom furniture and cost me almost $1000. Also, my tall boy dresser and bed head

I am completely disgusted by the service that was provided.
From the incorrect booking date to the late arrival. This already stressful period was made unbearable.
I had ordered a 6t truck size and PAID for that mind you even when what had arrived was a 3t truck.
I was shocked when a tiny truck arrived after specifically ordering a larger truck because of the amount of things I needed to move.
After my suspicions grew, I called the company to check if it was the right size. The company insisted that it was a 6t but something didnt seem quite right so I looked up their plate numbers

Careful, warm, friendly and polite. I've used these guys twice for moving 3 bedroom and 4 bedroom home and all I can say is wow!! Such warm, friendly, humble people... we love using city removalist they never disappoint. One thing we've learnt is never trust a removilist company without researching and ensuring you read comments. These guys were so thorough with their work, made sure everything was packed and were so careful with moving stuff around. Definitely a highly recommended organisation! God bless you people! 🙌🙌👌
