Located 53km west of Sydney, this new suburb of Jordan Springs comprises new attached, detached dwellings and apartments as well as commercial hub, all set around lakes, public cycleways and paths. A fantastic canvas for any architect! 8 Squared Architects were approached by a leading developer to provide a row of townhouses which addressed the park and lake at the rear while considering northern sunlight.
Set amongst Australian architectural royalty the existing house had amazing mid century bones, in one of Sydney's most exclusive suburbs. Aside from the development approval itself, the challenge was to meet the client's brief without detracting from the character and context. Siting the additions was key with a large neighbouring house to the North and a significant heritage house to the south.

Our site in Ryde is as complicated as you can get, bushfire prone and flood affected, as well as being on a severe site slope. 8 Squared worked with all of that to get our dual occupancy approved. It was great for us because they managed everything from start to finish. They’re now working on our house design. They’re great value for money and we would highly recommend them!
