Welcome to a project close to our heart - the Old Fremantle House, a retro-fit project completed by Ecotect Architects. Built with a focus on natural materials including hempcrete, this small home near Margaret River will provide Perth couple, Andrea. This project consisted of a renovation of a 1930s cottage with an addition at the rear of the house using.

A great place to begin is to get to know your block and conduct a site analysis. Basically yo.u are studying your site and immediate surrounds for anything that will positively or negatively impact your site and ultimately your design. It is best to do this at various times of the day. When you combine these observations with a professional contour and feature survey you will know your site well, along with its strengths and weaknesses.

I have the most beautiful living environment thanks to Ecotect-Architects. The house is part of a 4 building eco-compound with a parent's house, a laundry and a music studio joined by wooden decks. It's hard not to feel like I'm always on holiday.
The emphasis on 'sight-lines' was something I didn't understand until I actually lived in the house - everywhere has a view or a curve or something beautiful to look at. The ceilings are high and curved, the walls are soft and rounded and there is a sense of tranquility throughout.
